What Am I Doing Overhere?
I am ending my 3rd year of studies throughout a placement from April to September in a Fair-trade market-based approach company located in East Bristol. Basically this internship offers me a significant opportunity to broaden my knowledge and strengthen my business skills with experienced people.
Banksy is a well-known pseudo-anonymous English graffiti artist. He is believed to be a native of Yate (near Bristol) and born in 1974, but there is substantial public uncertainty about his identity and personal and biographical details. His artworks are often-satirical pieces of art that encompass topics such as politics, culture, and ethics. His street art, which combines graffiti with a distinctive stencilling technique, has appeared in London and in cities around the world. (Wikipedia)
I just like this city.
...The underground of
my city is not well-known for its friendliness and goodwill. Though here comes
the Beng Beng Cocktail, bringing to light a way of listening to music
rather than a way of playing it. The only thing matter is how much your heart
is beating when you are hearing it. Needless thinking, with BBC we just want to
leave you with the feeling you can breathe on this earth. We are promoting
ideas you may like, or you won’t! We don’t give a fuck to any motherfucker but
point the finger at some human ways of thinking we just want to make you
conscious. Is human being rights violated? Is still human mind free? Then it’s
up to you to involve yourself at focusing on ideas you feel alert...and free.
Then check this new project out and enjoy mate, cuz that’s fucking tasty!

More music on Positive World Approach, By Your Music's Involvement
More than playing because they used to enjoy strings, sticks and mics, Red Lights Flash and Hit The Switch are two punk hardcore bands developing a powerful music as an act in response of many subjects they are angry with, according to Stay Vocal org/zine one’s.
“We just want to make people aware of what they’re contributing to everyday—to be conscious of what’s out there and who is accountable. Music is expression, we read about radical ideas, we see radical things…We then think radical, and try to live radical….We also like to make radical music that is lyrically radical…..Get rad.” From Nitro Records and Matt from Hit The Switch Right there: "Tidal Wave" from their new release coming up soon...
Positive messages that accompany their songs will have you challenging social norms in the name of peace and equality. Below: "Direct Action", from their Free realease. Following by lyrics of this song.
Direct action gets the goods,
but all your actions can at best be seen
as a lubricant to the process
And then it's shown how even so-called liberal parties
are jumping on any bandwagon once they become aware
that existing arrangements are crumbling
And this encourages you. this encourages you.
Only a few - only a few - had the means to challenge this well rehearsed system in
forcing change on existing institutions....
Who was in charge then? The media needed ads.
Or the Bretton Woods hoax institutions? We know, what a bad joke:
As the next decade evolves - again none of these players wants to rock the boat
this structures become increasingly cemented -
And this "love affair" reminds you of your student league
the first brown-nosing in your fraternity
So your goals have been thwarted by the rigid market
It must be hard when all your efforts can be seen as rearguard actions
recognizing inevitably of what is already taking place.
direct action gets the goods! direct action gets the goods!
so is it all just theory? more efforts - less wages, another hole-in-one on the green. oh, you might obviously violate the spirit of human rights in favor of politically unhampered market solutions and competition - but thereby ensure you a smooth and comfortable life along the way. at least, this satisfies you. but it kills us.
The punk had a durable influence on all the anti-authority music, in the pursuit of the underground culture. It has several sub-kinds such as Ska-Punk or even Straight-edge.
StrAight-edgE – keep your mind cleared
Cult movement in which the followers commit themselves to follow a lifestyle aiming at keeping their mind cleared. This movement comes from the punk environment and is all about a philosophy of life based on three principles (and often associated to three X): “no drug, no alcohol, no sexual promiscuity”. This philosophy refers to the slogan: «don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t fuck. At least I can fucking think”. It shows the refusal of the nihilism, the auto destructive and negative punk tendencies, as well as a need of more positive values but still claim the social aspect of the punk. The sexual promiscuity is interpreted in a different way according to the followers of the Straight edge: most have sexual intercourse only if they have feelings to their partners. Band as Rise Against is closed to this way of life.
Ska-puNk – Grab your shoe
Ska-punk is essentially characterized by the use of guitars alternating passages out of time and passages in distortion played in the punk style. It was created by Operation Ivy (interview),
a band formed in 1987 in San Francisco. The band was named after the series of nuclear tests done by the United States in 1952 on the Marshall Islands. They play a punk-rock very influenced by bands that started in the first punk period, such as The Clash or Ramones, but also by British ska bands as Madness or The Specials. The fusion of those two musical genres gave the name ska-punk, mixture of ska and punk.
AntiManiaX – band of carefulness and tact
Coming from Austria, this ska-punk hardcore band elaborates very structured fragments and high technical time rhythms’ changes with intensity that couldn’t meet one’s match. Those guys deal with a large variety of subjects on their compositions. As indicated in the title of their ultimate (?) record «I am without sleep … In this desert of concrete ".
The band criticizes a political system which prevents people from looking around them. The " desert of concrete ", as they say, refers to the thousands of sky-scrapers being built every day that make the man feel more and more isolated. It denounces the omnipresence of advertisements and programs TV which influence people. It denounces the power of the man abusing animals and reducing these living creatures to soulless products. It supports numerous organizations which fight against the non compliance with the animals rights. The members of the band are vegetarians and propose with a lot of auto-mockery, a recipe based on soya called "Chili with tofu ". They are also angry with the abuses of G8, the stupid neo-Nazi, the homophobia, the sexism and many other issues they don´t like very much (if you are too, support these org/zines : Peta, ALF SG, Free Tibet, Plea 4 peace).
This way of thinking intends to develop a critical spirit which should be spread across the world – must started from the school. Without imposing a mode of thought, I want to stand by their ideas and let then the audience build up to himself his own personal opinion on this focus. This is freedom. Is this freedom ?
Today, I woke up at 7 and took the bus to Edinburgh to recharge one’s batteries.
First of all, I went to Sony Centre to repair my laptop which crashed two days ago. I walked almost 45 minutes in the rain to find the shop as a Sony seller told me: “Hey man, don’t have any customer service there… Go to the other one brand store in the west side of the town !” Actually, I was nearly to the top of east Edinburgh side… Anyway, I walked 45 minutes as well in the rain and catch a bus ‘til the right store. An employee said me I should take my files back tomorrow, great news.
Next, what’s better than having a warm seat and a Starbucks coffee on Princes Street with Baboo !?
Then, I tried any local clothes as a bunch of berets. But you won’t see me wearing kilt though ! Just let you figure out…;)
At 4, the sun goes down (Yeah, Edinburgh is not a bearer market for sun cream industries...). Have a look of these pictures and be in awe of this Edinburgh sunset.
After that, the school bus picked me up for going home. I had a nice travel enjoying the magic and amazing “Mighty” album by The Planet Smashers followed by the fast and perfect “Reclamation” one by Big Wig.
Ordinary day ? So that I love ordinary days !!
Lovely;)
